We all know traveling is expensive...
No matter how frugal you can be, traveling is not cheap. Maybe the country you're visiting is considered an inexpensive destination, but chances are you'll have to drop some money somewhere along the way whether it be your plane tickets or even just paying the dog sitter while you're gone!
Here's a few of my money making hacks that help me pay to travel! Some will make you more money than others, but if you use a few of these techniques, you'll be able to afford your next vacation in no time. Everyone loves some extra spending money.
1. Drive for a ride share service
Uber and Lyft are great ways to make a little extra money on the side. You can make your own schedule, work as long as you want, and even get paid weekly! If you have a vehicle in good condition with four doors and valid records this is something you can do. Make sure to check each services vehicle requirements, as they're each a little different.
I made $432 driving a few hours at a time over the course of 5 days during my first week! You can easily do so too. Registering as a driver is easy, you can do it with your smart phone. Both services provide opportunities for drivers to earn more through promotions, which give you bonuses, and surges, which increase the amount you earn per trip!
So far my experience has been pretty fun meeting new people- I can't believe I've already made as much money as I have! Read more about Why I Became an Uber Driver!

2. Sell your stuff on Poshmark
Poshmark is available in the app store, and on this platform, you can list clothing, jewelry, shoes, and so much more! People all over can purchase from your closet your new or used clothing and accessories.
Once someone purchases an item, you print your prepaid (by poshmark) shipping label, slap it on there, put your item in the package, and pop it in the mailbox. Super easy! The amount your buyer paid for your item is deposited into your poshmark account and you can choose to initiate direct deposits to your bank account!
I love using Poshmark, because you can money AND shop over 5,000 brands at up to 70% off. It's fun and easy - I promise! You can get the free app here!

3. List your home on HomeAway or Airbnb
How can you make money while you're on vacation? List your home! Someone can stay in your home while you're out sippin' mojitos in Havana and you can get PAID! Don't want to list your whole house? Try listing just a room on Airbnb! Listing is simple to get started, find out more on their websites about policies and requirements.

4. Monetize your blog or website
Google Adsense is the easiest way to monetize your blog. You will get paid each time someone clicks on an ad on your website, and some ads even pay per impression (each time your ad is seen).
This isn't going to make you huge bucks unless your site gets TONS of traffic, but it's passive income and you can't beat that. If you're site is getting tons of traffic and you haven't done this already- what are you doing?

5. Sell handmade items on etsy
Wood crafts, hand painted items, handmade soaps or scrubs, digital art, or anything else you can make! Whatever you are good at doing, take it to the next level and start selling it!
I love creating wall art out of wood pieces that I can paint on like the marlin I painted above! You can literally sell anything on Etsy, and if you can find your materials fairly cheap you can turn a pretty decent profit doing this. The downside? It's time consuming and shipping large items can get pricey.
What do you like to do to make some side money? Have you had success with any of these side hustles? Drop a comment!
